Weekly Meetings
7/26/2021
Tenth Design Meeting
The group reviewed the progress on the Design Report with Professor Ejaz. The report was nearly done and needed some final adjustments. Professor Ejaz suggested to change some organization and titles for some of the sections of the paper to give the reader a better understanding of the material.
11:05am - 11:42am
Meeting #10
7/15/2021
Eighth Design Meeting
The group showed the progress that was accomplished for the construction of the housing of the project. During the meeting, Professor Ejaz asked if a person put their hand over the pool would be detected. Also, he suggested that some pictures could be taken of the area around the pool to show how the testing is done. He also suggested that the group should have a first draft of the Design report ready to show him in the coming meeting.
11:03am - 11:20am
Meeting #8
6/31/2021
Meeting #7
11:01am - 11:32am
Seventh Design Meeting
The group showed the progress that was accomplished for the construction of the housing of the project. During the meeting, Professor Ejaz asked if a person put their hand over the pool would be detected. Also he suggested that some pictures could be taken of the area around the pool to show how the testing is done. He also suggested that the group should have a first draft of the Design report ready to show him in the coming meeting.
7/08/2021
Seventh Design Meeting
The group showed progress in finalizing the project and discussed that the final video of the project would be shot the following weekend. The group also began showing Prof. Ejaz the progress accomplished on the report. Prof. Ejaz made some recommendations on changes to how the project was originally expected to work. This meant that taking out the audio function in the project and not allowing pets to be tested would have to be explained.
11:05am - 11:31am
Meeting #7
6/17/2021
Meeting #5
11:07am - 11:49am
Fifth Design Meeting
The group was suggested a recommendation to be noted after the project is done. The recommendation was to add a warning that would be sent to the user when someone came close to the pool. Professor Ejaz suggested the group to find an acceptable percentage when the object detection software detects a person. It was discussed that the owner of the pool did not want the project to be installed in their home so Dr. Ejaz suggested that the installation would not be necessary.

Meeting #6
11:10am - 11:28am
Sixth Design Meeting
The group discussed some issues encountered during the week dealing with the code and the hardware working together. It was also noted that the progress achieved throughout the week was purely troubleshooting. The group did fix most of the issues with the connection and communication of the code to the micro controller. There were also issues encountered when testing the LED and buzzer in which the hardware would not be activating properly. This was later found to be a connection error.

Meeting #5
11:05am - 11:42am
Fifth Design Meeting
Group began by discussing the progress of the project. The group showed that the object detection software was working and the pool and people in the pool were being detected. The professor noted that the pool was being detected and that the area as seen from the camera was making a rectangle around the pool to show what areas it was detecting. Dr. Ejaz suggested that the group should find a way to narrow the area around the pool that the software will be monitoring to get more precise results. The group also informed the professor that the following week the group would be conducting testing on the motion sensor and buzzer as well as the software.
6/10/2021
Meeting #4
11:05am - 11:42am
Fourth Design Meeting
Group began by discussing the progress of the project. The group showed that the object detection software was working and the pool and people in the pool were being detected. The professor noted that the pool was being detected and that the area as seen from the camera was making a rectangle around the pool to show what areas it was detecting. Dr. Ejaz suggested for the group to find a way to narrow the area around the pool that the software will be monitoring in order to get more precise results. The group also informed the professor that the following week the group would be conducting testing on the motion sensor and buzzer as well as the software.

Meeting #3
11:09am - 11:22am
Third Design Meeting
The meeting began by going over the work done during the week on the website. Dr. Ejaz suggested adding a date range to the Progress Log. The progress was significant enough for no further discussion.
5/20/2021
Meeting #2
11:02am - 11:38am
Second Design Meeting
The meeting began by going over the work done during the week on the website. Professor Ejaz suggested making a section under the Design tab for the questions the judges made about our presentation. We discussed how the project will be connecting to the app and how the app will work. The group also discussed how the video stream will be added on the app and how the detection of the pool will work. It was suggested that some cameras have a microphone incorporated and could help with the syncing of the sound and visual feed from the camera.

Meeting #1
11:25am - 12:45pm
First Design Meeting
We started by going over the syllabus, the report, the presentation, and the website. Results of the project must be discussed in the report in great detail.
Power Module: The suggestion is to keep our project battery powered and have an optional AC power feature. A low battery indicator must be implemented when the battery is in use.
For night or low light conditions, an LED array will be added and activated when the motion sensor is triggered. A light dependant resistor must be used to differentiate between day and night.
For the pool boundary conditions there should be an initial setup. We plan for the initial setup to be done intelligently through software. If boundary is still not adequate then the user will have to correct the boundary accordingly.
A useful suggestion proposaled by Dr. Ejaz is to track/detect only when someone or something is inside the pool boundary. This will cut down on processing significantly.
7/19/2021
Ninth Design Meeting
The group reviewed the progress on the Design Report with Professor Ejaz. There were some parts of the paper that needed reviewing but for the most part the report was almost completed. Professor Ejaz suggested that more needed discussed regarding the hardware aspect of the project.
